Health & Safety Advisor (Fixed-Term – 12 Months)

Location: Dublin (Project-Based)

A leading civil engineering contractor is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to join its project team on an 12-month fixed-term contract supporting major construction projects across Dublin.

Reporting to the Project/Contracts Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in promoting and maintaining the highest standards of Health & Safety, Environmental Management, and Quality Assurance.


Main Duties

  • Review, update and communicate all Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality policies, procedures, and regulations.

  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, and investigations; prepare reports and ensure ongoing compliance.

  • Prepare, review, and update Method Statements and Risk Assessments.

  • Document and investigate all accidents and near misses, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.

  • Deliver site inductions for employees, contractors, and visitors.

  • Plan and coordinate SHEQ-related training requirements for staff.

  • Maintain and update all SHEQ administration and support the development of documentation aligned with ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 9001:2015 standards.


Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience

  • NEBOSH OHAS Certificate (held for a minimum of 2 years).

  • Environmental or Quality qualifications are an advantage.

  • Experience implementing ISO 45001/18001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001.

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar Health & Safety role; experience with substations or underground transmission line works is beneficial but not essential.

  • Strong communication, team-building and organisational skills.

  • Effective problem-solving ability with a proactive approach.

  • Proficient IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Full driving licence and right to work in Ireland are essential.
