This position will be based on a biopharmaceutical site on behalf of our client, a multinational and multicultural company which provides great career progression opportunities to the right person.
Purpose of the role:
The Mechanical Shift Technician is responsible for the execution of the preventive and corrective maintenance program as per the Client/PPU requirements.
The Technician will work as part of the company’s Utilities team in supporting commissioning activities and preparing for sustaining operations at a pharmaceutical site. Tasks include, but are not limited to system walkdowns, authoring procedures and maintenance plans, system operations in support of commissioning activities.
Daily Tasks:
- Walkdowns & snagging of utilities systems (water treatment, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, HVAC, clean utilities) prior to mechanical completion tagging.
- Define maintenance plans and SOPs for site utilities systems.
- Review spare parts requirements.
- Complete on-site and vendor training.
- Operation of site utilities in support of commissioning.
- Assist in definition of site safety systems.
- Operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of site black and clean utilities systems.
- Completion of all related documentation in compliance with site and regulatory rules and guidelines.
- Delivery of delegated engineering tasks in compliance with good engineering practice and all regulatory, statutory and corporate requirements.
- Keep training current in line with the client’s requirements, i.e. SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures), EWI’s (Engineering Work Instructions), etc.
- All work on site to be carried out in accordance with the site EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) and company EHS rules and guidelines.
Qualifications and skills:
- 2 - 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Mechanical/ Electrical/ Instrumentation Senior Trade, City & Guilds or equivalent.
- Senior Trades, City & Guilds or equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical / Building Services engineering, mechanical/environmental.
- Marine experience at sea would be highly desirable.
