This position will be based on a biopharmaceutical site on behalf of our client, a multinational and multicultural company which provides great career progression opportunities to the right person.
Purpose of the role:
The Mechanical Shift Technician is responsible for the execution of the preventive and corrective maintenance program as per the Client/PPU requirements.
The Technician will work as part of the company’s Utilities team in supporting commissioning activities and preparing for sustaining operations at a pharmaceutical site. Tasks include, but are not limited to system walkdowns, authoring procedures and maintenance plans, system operations in support of commissioning activities.
Daily Tasks:
Walkdowns & snagging of utilities systems (water treatment, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, HVAC, clean utilities) prior to mechanical completion tagging.
Define maintenance plans and SOPs for site utilities systems.
Review spare parts requirements.
Complete on-site and vendor training.
Operation of site utilities in support of commissioning.
Assist in definition of site safety systems.
Operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of site black and clean utilities systems.
Completion of all related documentation in compliance with site and regulatory rules and guidelines.
Delivery of delegated engineering tasks in compliance with good engineering practice and all regulatory, statutory and corporate requirements.
Keep training current in line with the client’s requirements, i.e. SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures), EWI’s (Engineering Work Instructions), etc.
All work on site to be carried out in accordance with the site EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) and company EHS rules and guidelines.
Qualifications and skills:
2 - 3 years of experience in a similar role.
Mechanical/ Electrical/ Instrumentation Senior Trade, City & Guilds or equivalent.
Senior Trades, City & Guilds or equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical / Building Services engineering, mechanical/environmental.
Marine experience at sea would be highly desirable.
