This position will be based on a biopharmaceutical site on behalf of our client, a multinational and multicultural company which provides great career progression opportunities to the right person.

 

Purpose of the role:

The Mechanical Shift Technician is responsible for the execution of the preventive and corrective maintenance program as per the Client/PPU requirements.  

The Technician will work as part of the company’s Utilities team in supporting commissioning activities and preparing for sustaining operations at a pharmaceutical site. Tasks include, but are not limited to system walkdowns, authoring procedures and maintenance plans, system operations in support of commissioning activities.

 

Daily Tasks:

  • Walkdowns & snagging of utilities systems (water treatment, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, HVAC, clean utilities) prior to mechanical completion tagging.
  • Define maintenance plans and SOPs for site utilities systems.
  • Review spare parts requirements.
  • Complete on-site and vendor training.
  • Operation of site utilities in support of commissioning.
  • Assist in definition of site safety systems.
  • Operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of site black and clean utilities systems.
  • Completion of all related documentation in compliance with site and regulatory rules and guidelines.
  • Delivery of delegated engineering tasks in compliance with good engineering practice and all regulatory, statutory and corporate requirements.
  • Keep training current in line with the client’s requirements, i.e. SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures), EWI’s (Engineering Work Instructions), etc.
  • All work on site to be carried out in accordance with the site EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) and company EHS rules and guidelines.

 

Qualifications and skills:

  • 2 - 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Mechanical/ Electrical/ Instrumentation Senior Trade, City & Guilds or equivalent.
  • Senior Trades, City & Guilds or equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical / Building Services engineering, mechanical/environmental.
  • Marine experience at sea would be highly desirable.
