Location: Cernavoda, Constanta County, Romania
Status: Contract
Education: Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Engineering or equivalent work experience

A leading player in the energy sector is seeking a results-driven Expert – Implementation Works Execution to join a major refurbishment project in Cernavoda, Romania. This role will support local and international team members as part of a large Project Management Organization, reporting to the Superintendent of Implementation Works. The successful candidate will work on-site and play a key role in supporting the refurbishment of Unit 1 at the Cernavoda Nuclear Power Plant.
Key Responsibilities:

Support Project Managers in reviewing and evaluating detailed engineering solutions, technical specifications, and implementation/testing plans.

Provide oversight and verification for complex implementation and testing activities related to refurbishment.

Monitor and ensure design and implementation efforts align with the approved schedule, budget, and quality assurance processes.

Define and manage interfaces between discipline-specific areas of design to ensure cohesive execution and resource planning.

Offer technical design expertise and validate system-level design documentation.

Ensure compliance with applicable standards, policies, and procedures throughout design and manufacturing phases.

Support project milestones by adhering to cost and timeline commitments.
Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years working with CANDU nuclear power plants.

Direct experience in a CANDU refurbishment project is highly advantageous.

In-depth knowledge of CANDU operations, especially in outage, installation, and maintenance.

Strong background in design engineering and familiarity with complex energy systems.

Demonstrated leadership and the ability to manage technical projects under tight deadlines.

Professional Engineer designation (PEO or eligible) is preferred.

Experience in project management is considered an asset.

Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and commitment to quality assurance.

Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.

Romanian language skills are an asset, but not mandatory.
