Expert – Implementation Works Execution
Location: Cernavoda, Constanta County, Romania
Status: Contract
Education: Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Engineering or equivalent work experience
Travel: Yes

A leading player in the energy sector is seeking a results-driven Expert – Implementation Works Execution to join a major refurbishment project in Cernavoda, Romania. This role will support local and international team members as part of a large Project Management Organization, reporting to the Superintendent of Implementation Works. The successful candidate will work on-site and play a key role in supporting the refurbishment of Unit 1 at the Cernavoda Nuclear Power Plant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Project Managers in reviewing and evaluating detailed engineering solutions, technical specifications, and implementation/testing plans.

  • Provide oversight and verification for complex implementation and testing activities related to refurbishment.

  • Monitor and ensure design and implementation efforts align with the approved schedule, budget, and quality assurance processes.

  • Define and manage interfaces between discipline-specific areas of design to ensure cohesive execution and resource planning.

  • Offer technical design expertise and validate system-level design documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards, policies, and procedures throughout design and manufacturing phases.

  • Support project milestones by adhering to cost and timeline commitments.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years working with CANDU nuclear power plants.

  • Direct experience in a CANDU refurbishment project is highly advantageous.

  • In-depth knowledge of CANDU operations, especially in outage, installation, and maintenance.

  • Strong background in design engineering and familiarity with complex energy systems.

  • Demonstrated leadership and the ability to manage technical projects under tight deadlines.

  • Professional Engineer designation (PEO or eligible) is preferred.

  • Experience in project management is considered an asset.

  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and commitment to quality assurance.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.

  • Romanian language skills are an asset, but not mandatory.
