Location: Letterkenny/Donegal (Project-based)/Omagh, Co. Tyrone (50/50 split)
Contract: Permanent Role

Anderson McQue is partnering with a well-established civil engineering contractor to recruit an experienced Health & Safety Advisor for a windfarm near Letterkenny. 50% of the time may be spent in the HQ of the company in Omagh, Co. Tyrone.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic project team and take ownership of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) compliance across large-scale civil engineering works.

The Role

Reporting to the Project / Contracts Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for

overseeing and maintaining high SHEQ standards on site, ensuring full compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and ISO standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, update and communicate all Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures
  • Conduct regular safety audits, site inspections and investigations, ensuring ongoing compliance
  • Prepare, review and maintain Method Statements and Risk Assessments
  • Investigate accidents and near misses, implementing corrective and preventative actions
  • Deliver site inductions to employees, contractors and visitors
  • Plan and coordinate SHEQ-related training
  • Maintain SHEQ documentation and administrative records
  • Support the development and maintenance of the SHEQ Management System in line with:

o ISO 45001:2018

o ISO 14001:2015

o ISO 9001:2015

Requirements

  • NEBOSH Occupational Health & Safety qualification (held for a minimum of 2 years)
  • Environmental and/or Quality qualifications are advantageous
  • Practical experience implementing ISO 45001 / 18001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar SHEQ or Health & Safety role
  • Experience in substations or underground transmission works is beneficial but not essential
  • Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
  • Confident IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Full, valid driving licence
