ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
A leading organization involved in the Cernavoda Unit 1 Refurbishment Program is seeking a results-driven professional with CANDU refurbishment knowledge and strong document control expertise to join the team in Romania.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to one of the most critical infrastructure projects in the region. The selected candidate will report to the Director of Refurbishment Engineering and will be responsible for establishing and managing a best-in-class document control system, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and compliance with nuclear standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement document control governance, processes, and procedures aligned with best practices and tailored to refurbishment project requirements.
- Manage project documents and correspondence, including status tracking, version control, distribution, and archiving in accordance with a defined distribution matrix.
- Oversee the digital document control platform, including temporary storage and long-term archiving strategies.
- Ensure proper transfer of finalized documents to the Unit 1 document record system and maintain compliance with regulatory and quality assurance standards.
- Monitor review workflows and approval processes to maintain strict documentation timelines.
- Coordinate the upload of approved documentation into Asset Suite and related systems.
- Liaise with project stakeholders (engineering, project controls, QA, construction, safety, and others) to ensure documentation needs are met and processes are continuously improved.
- Lead the collection of feedback and implement lessons learned to enhance future document control operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical field.
- At least 5 years of experience in document control roles, preferably within nuclear, infrastructure, or energy sectors.
- Knowledge of CANDU technology or experience on nuclear refurbishment projects is a strong asset.
- Familiarity with document management systems (e.g., Asset Suite) and strong proficiency with MS Office tools.
- Exceptional attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage competing priorities under pressure while maintaining quality and compliance.
- Fluency in Romanian is considered an asset.
