Employment Type: 18-months-contract
Job Purpose:
To oversee and manage the on-site installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of solar PV systems at a solar park. Ensure that all work is carried out safely, on time, and to specification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the day-to-day operations on the solar park construction site.
- Ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth workflow.
- Monitor installation and testing of solar panels, inverters, transformers, and associated electrical infrastructure.
- Conduct site inspections and quality checks; maintain detailed reports and documentation.
- Liaise with project engineers, consultants, and clients to address technical issues.
- Ensure adherence to project schedule and escalate potential delays or risks.
- Supervise commissioning and performance testing of PV systems.
- Report daily progress to the Project Manager.
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies and lead toolbox talks on site.
Requirements:
Education & Qualifications:
- Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy Engineering, or related field.
- Professional registration is a plus (e.g., Engineers Ireland).
Experience:
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in site engineering, preferably in utility-scale solar PV projects.
- Construction (site) experience
- Experience with solar PV system components (modules, inverters, switchgear).
- Familiar with grid connection and utility interface standards.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and coordination skills.
- Proficient in reading electrical drawings and technical documents.
- Knowledge of HSE and QA/QC procedures.
- Strong communication and reporting skills.
- Competence in MS Office, AutoCAD, and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
Preferred:
- Familiarity with SCADA systems, energy storage, or hybrid systems.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to work in remote locations.
