Senior Hydrogen Engineer

​Anderson McQue has been appointed by a leading provider of renewable fuels and alternative fuelling solutions to recruit a Senior Hydrogen Engineer for their team in the United States.

What you will do:


  • Collaborate with design and engineering to assist in generation of hydrogen fuelling facility construction drawings.

  • Support construction team with review of submittals and respond to requests for information from contractors and customers.

  • Assist in the procurement of permits to construct hydrogen facilities. Provide station review and support with final station closeout documentation.

  • Support manufacturing/packaging of hydrogen equipment by identifying ways to improve quality and performance and reduce costs.

  • Assist with the selection, development and release to manufacturing of new hydrogen equipment.

  • Negotiate with equipment providers, utilities, contractors and site host to reach acceptable technical and economic conclusions. Coordinate with detailed engineering and costing team to finalize design and cost and transition to construction phase.

  • Oversee construction phase with periodic site visits, and regular communication to the site host, the anchor tenant and the commercial team. Identify problem areas within the process and work with stakeholders for speedy resolution.

  • Participates in development of proposals for sales opportunities.

  • Fully understand AutoCAD, and SolidWorks software, system data sources, design models, and how to alter objects, create documents and drawing objects, dimensions, and layouts and visibility.


Role Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.

  • 7+ years’ experience with engineering design of industrial equipment or infrastructure which may include ASME, ASTM, welding and electrical codes, piping systems, structural design.

  • 3+ years’ experience with hydrogen fuelling and production equipment, industry specifications, construction and operation.

  • 3+ years of experience with hydrogen fuelling infrastructure equipment such as, but not limited to, pumps, electrolysers, high pressure storage vessels, vaporizers, chillers, compressors, etc.

  • Focus on a goal and harnesses own and others’ energy to drive toward goal alignment; meets or exceeds expectations.

  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.

  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.

  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.

  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.

  • Up to 50% Overnight Travel
