Overview of the role:


We are seeking highly motivated and safety conscious individuals to fill the Shift Lead positions on our black utilities hard services maintenance and calibrations contract for one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical company’s based in Dublin.

The shift lead has overall responsibility for operation of all black utilities utility equipment and systems on site during their scheduled shift. The Shift Lead shall be responsible to ensure that all operations are conducted in a safe and professional manner.

In the event of critical system failure, the Shift Lead will be the main point of contact and will be responsible for escalating the issue and allocating his/her shift resources to quickly resolve the issue.
He/she will also lead the morning Shift Pass-down meeting, reporting on equipment and system status from the previous 24 hours and highlighting any issues.
The Shift Lead will work closely with the Utility Operations Lead, the Maintenance and Calibrations Lead, the day maintenance team and Client SME’sto ensure safe and efficient operations of the site black utilities.


Day to day of the role:

  • The Shift Lead will oversee the operations of his/her shift and ensure that all equipment and
    systems are operated safely and efficiently and avail be for use at all times.

  • He/she will have extensive knowledge of utilities across the site and will ensure that shift team
    members gain this knowledge also

  • He/she will be fully conversant with the Shift Expectations document and will ensure that all
    shift members carry out their duties and responsibilities as per requirements

  • He/she will allocate shift resources as required to carry out routine and non-routine shift
    functions, including routine PPM’s as allocated and execution of the Rounds and Readings
    program

  • The Shift Lead will be the key point of contact for any system deviations or failures, and will
    escalate issues as they arise as per site procedures.

  • He/she will lead the shift handover meeting, ensuring all operational equipment
    status is relayed to the oncoming shift.

  • The Shift Lead will also lead the daily Shift Pass-down meeting with Clients and
    colleagues, ensuring all issues are highlighted and corrective actions etc. are
    identified.

  • The Utilities shift manage the Permit-To-Work system for utilities under scope, for
    the site team, sub-contractors, and where appropriate, project teams.

  • The Shift Lead will ensure that this process is executed with care and diligence as per
    site procedures and protocols.

  • The Shift Lead will work closely with the Utilities Operations Lead in identifying
    relevant technical and site training for each shift member and will ensure that all
    shift training curricula are current and up-to-date.


Required skills for this role:

  • Engineering degree or equivalent, Trade qualification (mechanical)

  • Good working knowledge of preventative maintenance programsfor a wide range of plant
    equipment: Proven capability of working with Pumps, HVAC systems, Air Compressors, Steam
    Boilers and Steam Systems ancillary services, Domestic Hot Water, Refrigerant Chillers, Cooling
    towers, Steam Boilers, High and Low Voltage electricalsystems, PLC’s, Building Management
    Systems, Understanding of Basic Instrumentation.

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

  • Ability to read and interrogate mechanical/instrumentation & process drawings
