Lab Technician, Paris
Anderson McQue is partnering with an exciting and well-funded early stage green chemistry business to source a Lab Technician to join their team in Paris. This is an exciting opportunity working with a team passionate about decarbonisation.
We are looking for someone with a background in organic synthesis and purification processes to play a crucial role in the production of the recycled polyamides that will be delivered to customers and clients.
You will play a pivotal role in scaling up the depolymerization process from laboratory-scale to pre-industrial scale. Key responsibilities include:
- Set-up large scale reactions for the production of monomers and polymers for our customers.
- Operate and maintain reactors (up to 100L).
- Optimization of conditions and troubleshooting on the preparation of large scale reaction.
- Contribute to project development with the rest of the team (synthesis & purification). Your observations and reports on scale up reactions will be crucial for the development of the process.
- Screening of conditions, experimental design, optimization and scale-up
- Develop & Perform chemical analysis on the recycled monomers and polymers, assessment of the purity.
To be successful in this role you should have 3+ years of experience as a laboratory technician within an industrial chemical company or in industrial chemistry settings working in the characterization of organic compounds and/or polymers. You should have:
- A Bachelor degree or equivalent in chemistry with a strong technical background in organic chemistry.
- Demonstrate hands-on experience and process/equipment problem solving.
- Demonstrated experience in working on reactors >5L.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly grasp complex concepts and adapt to new challenges.
- Demonstrated autonomy and initiative in projects, with a track record of delivering results in a dynamic environment.
