Job Title: In-House Legal Counsel

Location: Waterford

Our client provides a wide range of cost-effective and sustainable energy solutions for public, industrial, commercial, agricultural customers working across both Ireland and Northern Ireland. They are committed to sustainability and dedicated to the development of renewable energy projects that contribute to a greener and more sustainable future. As part of their growth, they are seeking a talented In-House Legal Counsel to join their team.

Main Responsibilities: As an In-House Legal Counsel you will play a pivotal role in supporting our legal operations. Your key responsibilities and skills required will include:

Corporate and M&A Support:

  • Assist in matters related to Corporate and M&A activities, including due diligence monitoring, in Ireland and other jurisdictions.

  • Renewable Energy Projects: Provide legal support on issues related to renewable energy projects, both in Ireland and other jurisdictions.

  • Regulatory Interaction: Engage with various regulatory bodies, including involvement in licensing procedures for solar photovoltaic parks, wind farms, biomass plants, energy communities, ACC, and ACI.

  • Financing and Contract Negotiation: Monitor financing processes and guarantees, including analysing and negotiating the respective documentation with financial entities.

  • Demonstrate the ability to analyse, draft, and negotiate a wide range of contracts.

  • Legal Proceedings: Monitor judicial and administrative offence procedures and processes.

  • Legal Opinions: Prepare legal opinions on topics related to various areas of law.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience: Demonstrated experience in Corporate and M&A, renewable energy projects, and related legal matters. Relevant experience as an in-house lawyer in a listed company will be highly valued.

  • Educational Background: A degree from a leading law school.

  • Bar Association Registration: Registration with the Ireland Bar Association.

  • Language Skills: Fluent in English; proficiency in other languages will be preferred.

  • Analytical Skills: Capacity for organization, analysis, and planning.

  • Legal Expertise: Solid legal knowledge in various areas of law, particularly commercial and corporate law, civil law, and energy law.
