Hydrogen Process Engineer, UK

Job description

​Anderson McQue has been appointed by a global EPC business to source a Process Engineer to join their Energy & Process team in the UK. This is an important role, functioning as a technical specialist and will facilitate and support project development, engineering during the full project life cycle, and startup of hydrogen projects.

In this role, you will report to the Sales Director for Europe and will work in a matrix organization that aligns the goals of each business line and regional profit/loss centers. The BDM will be focused on a select number of targets and potentially strategic clients. Although this is a remote position, it is desirable that central London is an accessible distance for occasional meetings in the city when needed.

Your key responsibilities will include process engineering design of chemical facilities including Hydrogen, Carbon Capture, Fertilizers (Ammonia, Urea, etc.), LNG, Gasification, Fermentation, Sulfur recovery, Gas treatment, Biofuels, and NGL recovery and fractionation; and prepare a variety of moderately complex process engineering deliverables: Simulations, PFDs, H&MBs, MSDs, P&lDs, Equipment Datasheets, Instrument Data, Relief Valve Calculations, Complex Control Descriptions, Cause & Effect Diagrams.

You will perform complex research and develops recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection; lead implementation of solutions through the project life cycle: feasibility, FEL stages, FEED, detailed design, EPC, and commissioning; serve as a technical specialist to provide consultation and guidance to project teams; and actively seek to understand client interests and drivers through client contact and interaction with the project leadership.

You will hold a Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field and should have 5+ years relevant experience. You should have an understanding of the principles of process engineering, hydrogen production / handling (i.e. – electrolysis, compression, liquefaction), water treatment, mass and energy balances, thermal engineering or electrolysis processes.
