Field Engineering Manager – Cheshire, UK

Job description

​Anderson McQue has been appointed by a global EPC business to source a Field Engineering Manager to join their Power Generation team in the UK. This is a key position within the business managing a technical engineering team overseeing the delivery of an EpCM waste-to-energy project in Cheshire.

In this role, you will provide technical direction/interpretation of design drawings and specification requirements as well as general guidance to subcontractors on overall design; you may sign-off on field designs or re-designs performed in the field; review, maintain records, and respond to requests; administer assigned subcontractor(s) for compliance with contract documents; and monitor construction activities for compliance with the schedule

You will direct and/or perform quantity take-offs as required to support construction planning and invoice approval; Review all subcontractor progress payment requests for acceptance; monitor technical service representative (supplier) logs and review/approve submitted timesheets. You will compile and maintain construction records and list markups as assigned or directs staff in this regard; establishe site document control activities for design documents; and will be responsible for ensuring usage of latest IFC revisions as well as intermediate changes.

You will hold a Bachelor's degree and have a minimum of 6 years relevant construction field engineering experience, including a significant amount of experience on Power Generation projects. It is desirable that you have knowledge of cost control, scheduling, engineering drawings and other documents; the ability to set-up and perform project controls functions on smaller, less complex projects; and the ability to do material takeoffs and field estimates.
