Location: Munich (preferred), Bremen, Essen, Berlin, Hamburg, Fontainebleau (France), Madrid (Spain)

Anderson McQue is recruiting for our client who is a very successful international engineering and consulting firm.

Join the Power Transmission & Distribution team as Electrical Power / Grid Connection Consultant (m/f/d)with relevant industrial experience developing HV and MV grid connection solutions and electrical plant designs.

In the interdisciplinary project teams you will work on projects for a sustainable power supply with high shares of renewable energies. Typical projects would be in the field of energy transmission and distribution systems, grid connection of Solar PV, Wind, Hybrid and BESS power plants as well as green hydrogen plants. Currently, a significant proportion of projects are located in French speaking West Africa.

The team is based in the Munich office, however, the option of working in the Fontainebleau (France), Madrid (Spain), Bremen, Essen, Berlin or Hamburg offices will be considered for the right candidate.

Salary: Negotiable, DOE

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead on project grid connection scope, including liaison with relevant project stakeholder.

  • PPA and plant technical limits preparation and review.

  • Prepare, check and approve CAPEX /OPEX estimation of grid connection infrastructures.

  • Carry out technical due diligence.

  • Provide technical engineering support at all stages of the project development cycle.

  • Prepare, check and approve technical reports.

  • Prepare, review and evaluate EPC and IPP tenders.

  • Review project designs including FEED and detailed design level.

  • Manage work packages as well as complete projects, if desired.

  • Provide support for proposal preparation.

  • Liaise and communicate effectively with team, clients and stakeholders.

Qualification:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering focus on power engineering.

  • You are fluent in French and English. Knowledge of German would be beneficial.

  • You have relevant experience in high voltage and extra high voltage systems with focus on at least two of the following fields:

  • Substations (GIS/AIS)

  • Protection and Metering

  • Overhead Lines

  • Underground Cables

  • Offshore Cables

  • HVDC systems

  • Experience in the following fields would be of benefit:

  • Grid connection of renewable energy plants including knowledge of connection process and permitting requirements.

  • Working in a technical consultancy environment.

  • Project management experience including leading a team.

  • Planning and operation of transmission systems.

  • Understanding of power system studies and energy master plans.

  • You are used to working flexibly, independently and reliably in a team.

  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment with project teams based across different offices.

  • Our client serves projects in worldwide locations so the ideal candidate will be comfortable with travelling internationally for meetings and/or presentations.
