Anderson McQue is recruiting for our client who is a world leader in providing customised solutions in the Energy, Wastewater Treatment and Waste sectors.

Duration: Permanent

Overview of the role:

This role will assist in the negotiation and management of contracts with construction contractors for all company projects. Manage contract preparation and execution control. Work with project management and site management to ensure the satisfactory completion of contractor’s work.

Duties:

  • Acting as Contract Administrator, safeguarding scope, program obligation, analysis of delays and damages.

  • Ensure the Construction Team is adhering to all Contractual requirements and providing advice and monitoring of same

  • Ensure your Team’s Monthly applications are all inclusive of accurate remeasures, site changes, dayworks and any applicable contract claims. Identify escalations, material or labour variations, etc. as appropriate

  • Defend against claims for accelerations, disruption or losses

  • Monitor transaction compliance (milestones, deliverables, invoicing etc.)

  • Provide visibility on actual progress achieved in relation to contractual and regulatory obligations and assist with schedule recovery as required

  • Serve as single point of contact for all contractual matters

  • Evaluate Variations merit and all associated costs

  • Evaluate contractor performance after project completion

  • Identify claims and give timely notice

  • Establish the legal ground of claims with an estimate of recovery

  • Establish the history of claims, and evidence of links between events

  • Logically build up well organized and factual claims

  • Ensure claim defense, prepare counterclaims; report on risks and opportunities and analyze and mitigate risks

  • Keeping the project stakeholders informed of progress, cost and any other relevant issue

  • Strong written communication abilities, and the ability to negotiate a strong commercial position for the company are also essential.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 3rd level Qualification in Mechanical Engineering/Building Services Engineering

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role

  • Experience or exposure to civil engineering practices

  • Strong ability to negotiate a favourable commercial position for the Company

  • Strong written communication abilities, and the ability to negotiate a strong commercial position for the company

  • Experience with Primavera / P6 is an advantage
