Business Development Manager, London

​Anderson McQue has been appointed by a global EPC business to source a Business Development Manager to join their team in the UK. This is an important role, accountable for the success of business development and sales efforts within the European region for business.

In this role, you will report to the Sales Director for Europe and will work in a matrix organization that aligns the goals of each business line and regional profit/loss centers. The BDM will be focused on a select number of targets and potentially strategic clients. Although this is a remote position, it is desirable that central London is an accessible distance for occasional meetings in the city when needed.

Your key responsibilities will include developing winning strategies and participating in the preparation of proposals for prospective new business; actively becoming engaged and providing sales leadership in closing new business opportunities; implementing strategies that enable the region to obtain needed new business; and, developing and coordinating appropriate relationships with clients in accordance with an account management program.

You will monitor, develop, and pursue new business opportunities in the region; manages business development budgets and business development events in the region; coordinate with other business units in the pursuit of business for the benefit of the entire company; conduct all dealings with clients, external and internal, with professionalism, integrity and high ethical standards; and will provide prospect reporting, forecasts, client feedback and other information necessary to support business unit and company business planning.

You will hold a Bachelor's degree (technical degree preferred) and should have 10+ years relevant experience in Sales / Business Development / Client Account Management related to Renewable Energy, Power Generation, Transmission / Distribution, Heavy Industrial or other energy-related market segments. You should have prior experience in Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC) Sales processes with strong sales traits, including tenacity, competitiveness, persuasiveness and overall people skills.
