Our client provides a wide range of cost-effective and sustainable energy solutions for public, industrial, commercial, agricultural customers working across both Ireland and Northern Ireland. They are now looking for a Financial Accountant. This role requires a high level of attention to detail.

As Financial Accountant you will have a ‘can do’ attitude and a ‘hands on’ approach with full responsibility for all financial, taxation, legal and compliance aspects of the company’s business. This involves analysing financial performance, advising the Senior Management Team on these findings and proposing recommendations for increasing the company’s efficiency and profitability. You will work closely with multiple teams including sales, professional services, product development and senior management. The ideal candidate has the highest level of integrity, an excellent work ethic, enjoys supervising and building a team and the ability to perform professionally in a fast paced environment.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

 Provide leadership, direction and management of the finance function

 Provide commercial recommendations to the MD and members of the senior management team

 Input into tactical and strategic business, operational and financial planning

 Manage financial forecasting and budgets and overseeing the preparation of all financial reporting to create detailed annual operational budgets - revenues, direct costs, overheads, resource plans

 Implement robust financial, controls and reporting systems

 Manage Monthly management accounts and monthly variance analysis & operational KPIs

 Manage prudent revenue recognition policies & revenue assurance reporting to include weekly, monthly and quarterly sales reports (Sales pipeline, Backlog, POs)

 Support the sales team during bid reviews and deal negotiations to maximise deal profitability

 Provide legal support during contract negotiations and liaise with external legal counsel

 Strong cashflow management and forecasting of working capital requirements

 Preparation of statutory accounts and liaise with auditors on audit & corporate taxation

 Proactively assist the MD and Senior Management Team in reviewing the operations, providing accurate and timely financial information, review KPIs and provide commercial input into decisions

 Support the business through change and growth periods, coordinating corporate finance, debt, taxation, equity and acquisitions, as appropriate. Manage other funding – grants, leasing, loans etc

 Ensure regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met - PAYE, VAT, CSO, CRO returns

 Manage corporate taxation strategies (local and overseas jurisdictions) to mitigate tax exposures

Experience & Qualifications

 Highly motivated qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)

 5 years practical experience

 A high degree of commercial awareness with excellent analytical, technical and IT skills

 Extensive management experience with a ‘hands on’ approach and ability to use initiative

 Excellent time management and organisation skills, with the ability to prioritise workload

 Experience in the services/software/technology industry is highly desirable and a bias towards telecom industry experience is preferable

 Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills and excellent presentation skills

 Strong problem solving skills with pragmatic approach and time management skills

 Strong accounts preparation & business analysis experience required

 Previous experience of implementing an accounting system is highly desirable

 Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task

 Ability to work independently and as part of a team

 Knowledge of the implementation of Accounting & ERP packages and finance systems development

 Previous experience in a high growth or multinational company would be an advantage

 Advanced MS Excel knowledge / modelling skills are essential
